Description:

This is a very trendy bag that is practical and useful.

In the workshop you will:

  • Understand the pattern of cutting a bag
  • Learn surface embellishment by ‘Stencil Technique’ using pre-cut re-useable stencil and fabric colours
  • Learn “Fusing” to provide the right structure and shape to the bag
  • Be comfortable with hardware installation: Fixing zips, magnetic snap, D-ring and hook
  • Stitch
  • Assemble and finish

After this workshop you will know how to make sling bags, purses and pouches independently.

Age group: 15 years and above

Skill Level: Beginner

Pre required knowledge: Must know to operate basic sewing machine

Dates: 29th – 30th April, 2017

Time: 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm

Materials that will be provided: Participants will be shipped a kit which includes the following:

  • Pre-cut OHP stencil

Participants will also need: 

  • Home sewing machine
  • Seam ripper
  • Fabric scissor
  • Paper scissor
  • Pen and pencil
  • Sketch pen

Please ensure that you have an internet connection of at least 1Mbps speed with a UPS backup for the computer in case of power cut.

Artist’s Profile:  Poonam Rohit Garg is an experienced craft artist who has been designing and stitching bags of all kinds – totes, handbags, messenger bags, purses, pouches, laptop bags and more. She has worked as an instructor with a fashion degree College affiliated with Bangalore University and with Madura Coats as Sub-Editor of their thread craft design magazine, “Needle n Thread”. Poonam has been conducting bag making workshops for the past one and a half years in different places and fashion degree colleges, across the country. Her work has also been appreciated by Deccan Herald.
