Join in for an amazing workshop on Egyptian paintings. Egyptian paintings are done on special paper, Papyrus. Papyrus paintings have been extensively used to depict the daily life, mythology, gods and goddesses of ancient Egypt. Papyrus is a strong, durable paper like material produced from the pith of papyrus plant and is first known to have been used in ancient Egypt as far back as the First Dynasty.

Bring the past alive with Egyptian papyrus paintings on Saturday, May 5th at our studio in Koramangala. You will be guided through step by step procedure to complete an A4 painting of an Egyptian Pharaoh.

All materials required will be provided. This includes Authentic Papyrus Paper sourced originally from Egypt, Colours, Brushes, Gold and Silver paints.

Takeaway -You take back home an A4 size portrait of a Pharaoh
(e.g. Pharaoh Tutankhamen) on a papyrus sheet.

Pastels are fun, and versatile! Pastel drawings and paintings glow with an intensely luminous color and rich texture.

Soft pastels are easily blendable, and can be blended with fingers, a blending stump, or a cloth. Unlike the process of painting, the colors are mixed directly on the paper and the colors that are produced, are wonderfuly intense.

With a lot of notable artists making soft pastels as their primary medium, considering that they are fun to use, just like a chalk!

So come explore the brilliant colors and just dive right in without needing paintbrushes, solvents or a palette.

About the artist
Born and brought up in Bangalore, Aliya has been passionate about art, since she was a kid. She has conducted various art exhibitions and workshops.

Colors have always made her happy, that took her to Chitrakala parishad where she has done courses on various art techniques and that’s where she stumbled upon the beauty of soft pastels and the vibrancy of this medium of art.

Gond Art, a traditional folk art of the Gond community, is a mystical art form that is created by putting together dots and lines. The GOND paintings are an offering in the workship of nature and a mode of seeking protection and warding evil from the house. The Gond community is one of India’s largest indigenous communities and their art is the expression of their everyday quest of life.

– Introduction to the tribal GOND ART
– Fundamentals of GOND
– The creation of fine lines, dots & dashes
– Participants will work on an A3 sized canvas with acrylic colors
