Millets in your daily meals
Millets are one of the traditional foods of India, long forgotten and abandoned in favour of grains like rice and wheat. In recent years, however, a millet revival seems to be taking place in our cities with more and more people becoming aware of the amazing nutritional properties and health benefits of consuming millets. As we try to incorporate this super food into our diet, we also need to learn how to make tasty and nutritious meals from millets.
This workshop will be conducted by A. Santhilakshmy, who is passionate about spreading her deep knowledge of this grain through her initiative Sankalpa which advises schools and organizations on balancing nutrition and taste, with a special focus on making recipes which are tasty as well as appealing to children. Santhi has 15 years of experience in the field, through her work at Bhoomi Network since 2009 focusing on holistic nutrition.
In this hands-on half day workshop, participants will understand the importance of millets for our body and the environment and will learn to make a variety of delicious items with millets as the main ingredient. The cost includes lunch which will be cooked by the participants during the course of the workshop.
