SUMMARY:Robotics with Lego WeDo - Summer Camp in May
DESCRIPTION:LEGO WeDo! –\nRobotics with lego workshop in may\, summer camps for boys\nThe LEGO Education WeDo™ Robotics Construction Set\, aimed at children aged 6-11 introduced LEGO robotics to younger audience. The set combines the beloved LEGO bricks with one motor\, two sensors\, and a hub that connects the model to the computer. Simple drag-and-drop visual programming software is then used to bring the model to life. With this kid-friendly approach\, the set makes learning fun\, inspiring and engaging. Kids learn about complex topics in the fields of physics\, engineering\, and programming\, as well as develop motor and cognitive skills through robot building\, all as they have fun with LEGO bricks. These projects help children to lay the foundation for lifelong learning. \nWhy LEGO WeDo?\nEnables students to work as young scientists\, engineers\, mathematicians and creative writers providing them with the settings\, tools and tasks for completing cross curricular projects. \nWhat to do?\nChildren build and program a working model and then use the model for different purposes\, depending upon the theme of the activity and its focused subject matter in science\, technology\, mathematics or language \nHow it helps?\nA play full learning approach\nThink creatively to make a working model\nDevelop vocabulary and communication skills to explain how the model works\nEstablish links between cause and effect\nReflect on how to find answers and imagine new possibilities\nMake systematic observations and measurements\nFollow 2D drawings to build a 3D model\nThink logically and create a program to produce a specific behaviour\nWrite and present creative stories using models for visual and dramatic effects \nLevel:\nBeginner\nNo previous experience required. \nProjects covered:\n3 guided projects such as: opening bridge\, drumming monkey\, recycling truck\,\n1 free built robotic project \nTechniques covered:\nUsing motor\, axles\, tilt sensor\, gears\, motion sensor\, lever\, pulleys and writing algorithms / programming. \nTake home:\nA lot of FUN! Children will develop their 21st-century skills like problem solving\, collaboration and communication. \nTrainers \nShruthi who has a Masters in Psychology\, works at Ankura Foundation which is an early intervention centre for children with special needs.
