Research has shown that apart from being a great art form\, it helps children improve their focus\, attention span and all the while their handwriting improves. This art has been in existence since 600 BC\, back then it was used in everyday writing. Although these days it is mostly used for wedding cards and gift tags. \nThis calligraphy class will teach the children the use of pointed and flat pens. They will learn the strokes that are used to compose the letters and enable them to use their creativity to create their own style of letters. \nWeek 1- \nThe class will be for 1.5 hours a day for\nThey will spend time on the basics as well as on practice.\nThey will be given practice grid sheets with example letters that can be used to reproduce the letters. \nWeek 2 –\nIn this level\, the children can use the skills learned in Week 1 to create words and beautify their writing.\nThey will learn to practice words\, sentences and add decorative elements into their work. \nTakeaways from the classes: \nA deeper understanding of how letters are formed.\nTheory on lettering\nA stable hand for writing.\nExposure to different flat and pointed nivs and pens\nFormulate their own style of writing \nWhat to bring: \nAbsolutely nothing!
