Folk art encompasses art produced from an indigenous culture. Folk art paintings mostly depict nature and religious motifs and the themes generally depict deities, nature, fishes, peacock, etc.

We focus on conducting Madhubani Art, Pattachitra Art and Gond Art for beginners in our studio regularly.

Madhubani Painting is traditionally done with fingers, twigs, brushes, nib-pens, and matchsticks, using natural dyes and pigments. In this workshop, the Madhubani art form and its different methods will be explained in detail.  The Traditional style of Madhubani painting will be taught in the workshop.

You will learn –

  • Introduction-  Get to know about the various types of folk art of India and their significance.
  •  Get familiar with Madhubani as an art form.
  • Learn about its story, grammar, colors, motifs, and special characteristics.
  • Use your artistic creativity to create Madhubani artwork.

Gond Art, traditional folk art of the Gond community, is a mystical art form that is created by putting together dots and lines. The Gond paintings are an offering in the workship of nature and a mode of seeking protection and warding evil from the house.

You will learn –

  • Introduction to the tribal GOND ART
  • Fundamentals of GOND
  • The creation of fine lines, dots & dashes
  • Participants will work on an A3 sized canvas with acrylic colors

Pattachitra Art is the traditional folk art found in the interior rural regions Bengal and Orrisa is based on the mythological stories. Each Patta depicts a god or painting related to the daily activity of the people.

You will learn –

  • Create a stunning Pattachitra on canvas to adorn your walls.
  • Learn the trademarks of the art form to create your own canvas.
