Watercolor Painting Online Course – For Beginner and Intermediate Learners
We commence an 8-sessions in-depth watercolor course that will help you to master this unique medium completely. Learn watercolor techniques, understand the medium and pigment behavior, and much more in this course with us.
Introduction & Essential Techniques
- Overview of watercolor materials: paper, brushes, and paints
- Understanding color mixing and transparency
- Practicing washes: wet-on-wet, wet-on-dry, dry brush
- Exercise: Creating simple gradients and basic shapes
Floral Painting – Hanging Pots with Flowers
- Understanding light and shadow in florals
- Creating soft petals and sharp leaves using wet-on-wet vs. wet-on-dry
- Layering techniques for depth and texture
- Painting the hanging flower pots with a loose and expressive style
Landscape
- Perspective in landscapes: creating depth with color and value
- Painting textured stone paths using dry brush technique
- Capturing the glow of sunlight with warm and cool contrasts
- Blending soft sky gradients and distant mountains
Still Life – Apples
- Understanding organic shapes and natural textures
- Layering translucent washes for a realistic fruit effect
- Creating contrast and shadows for a three-dimensional look
- Painting apples with blended colors and delicate leaf veins
Still Life – Jars and Drapery
- Learning to render glass, ceramic, and reflective surfaces
- Using controlled brushwork for fabric folds and highlights
- Capturing subtle color variations for realism
- Establishing light and shadow to bring objects to life
Materials:
– Watercolours Cakes or Tubes
– Watercolour paper (Has to be watercolor, not regular paper – Brustro, canson, chitrapat, or any other watercolor paper brand)
– Round brushes and flat brush (0.2.6, 8,12 round brush and 1/2 or 1inch flat brush)
– Closed palette for tube colors OR regular palette for watercolor cakes
– 2 Water cups or bowl
– Rag cloth
– Masking tape
Age: Adults and Children above 10 years
Fee: Rs 4000 per person for 8 classes (Each session for 1.5 hours)
