Madhubani Painting originated from Madhubani district of Mithila region of Bihar. Madhubani paintings are drawn in accordance with a fixed theme and accordingly symbols, lines, patterns are drawn. Madhubani Paintings belong to the category of folk art.
These paintings mostly depict nature and religious motifs and the themes generally depict dieties, nature, fishes, peacock etc. Natural objects like the sun, the moon, and the religious plants like tulsi are also widely painted, along with the scenes from the royal court and social events like weddings.The paintings can be done on handmade paper, canvas, dupattas, stoles etc.

In this workshop, Madhubani art form and its different methods will be explained in detail.

The Traditional style of Madhubani painting will be taught in the class on an A4 size paper.

All materials will be provided in the class.

Materials include: Gelpen, Colours, Brushes and paper.

In this workshop, participants will have a hands-on experience on techniques of photo transfer and distressing wood with chalk paints.

In addition to this, you will learn details about uses of different mediums for photo transfer and methods to seal your product, as well as creating the vintage effect. Further, the effect of different types of varnishes will also be taught.

All materials will be provided to complete a 8*8inches square wooden tray and two 4*4 inches tea coasters.

Photo transfer with black and white and coloured images, both will be taught.

After attending this workshop you will be able to use this technique on any possible type of surface and give your products the beautiful and elegant vintage and distressed finish. You will be able to transfer any image on the surface you want to!

Découpage is the art of decorating an object by gluing tissues onto it in combination with special paint effects and other decorative elements. You would learn fundamentals of decoupage and the easy crackle effect. Decoupage with napkins and printed paper would not just be easy and simple but fun as well.
