Shoe Painting – Online Workshop

Shoe Painting – Online Workshop

Shoe Painting – Online Workshop with Shailee’s Hand-painted Shoes

Convert a boring new pair of white canvas shoes into a ‘work of art.’ Or just revive an old pair and make it look new and colourful!
Acrylic paints are meant for canvas and they last as long as your shoes would. These painted shoes can even be washed and the paint will stay on!
These shoes make a great gifting idea and if you don’t feel like wearing them, they even look great displayed on the shelf!

Shifting your ‘canvas’ from regular surfaces like paper, fabric and stretched canvas to ‘a pair of shoes’ is very exciting! It gives you an opportunity to pick a new hobby, broaden your artistic horizon onto a new surface and do something that not many people do.

Materials required:
– Canvas shoes (could be new or used. If used, they need to be washed and dried before painting)
– Acrylic paints
– Paint brushes (round brushes no.0, 2 and a flat brush thick enough for base coat, if required)
– Water bowl and palette
– Rag or tissue to wipe and clean brushes
– Old cloth or newspaper for packing so that the shoe stays in shape while painting

About the Artist:
Shailee is an artist and designer who has been painting canvas shoes since 2012. Her shoes have traveled all over the world and she continues to take orders for custom painted accessories! She has also been practicing Indian Folk Art and loves experimenting with different Indian art forms, by painting these on various products.

Textured Painting in Acrylic Colors – Beginner workshop in Bangalore

Acrylic texture mediums can create really cool effects that would be difficult or impossible to create otherwise (that is, by using just plain acrylic paint). This workshop is all about how to use textured acrylic mediums to add oomph and pizazz to your work:

1. You can create impasto effects, with dramatic peaks and valleys
2. You can sculpt the acrylic medium before it has dried on the canvas
3. You can use woodcutting tools to carve into the acrylic medium after it has dried on the canvas
4. You can create staining effects by painting over the acrylic medium with a wash of acrylic paint

There are many ways to apply and use acrylic texture mediums – the sky’s the limit! With so many possibilities, this workshop only touches the surface of what’s possible.
