Kutch Embroidery Work – Two-day Beginner workshop in Bangalore
Join us for a two-day workshop on the traditional Kutch embroidery. Kutch embroidery is a handicraft and textile signature art tradition of the tribal community of Kutch District in Gujarat.
The types of stitches adopted in Kutch embroidery are “square chain, double buttonhole, pattern darning, running stitch, satin and straight stitches”. It is usually executed with bright colors creating intricate weaving patterns and finished with mirror work.
What can you expect from the Two-day workshop?
– Introduction to the stitches and practice on fabric swatches
– Participants can choose to bring a fabric of their choice, stole, skirts, bag, cushion cover, blouse, kurta, kids dress, saree etc and the trainer will guide you conceptualize the design and beautify your piece with Kutch embroidery.
– Alternatively, participants can work on a 12-inch x 12-inch fabric which can be framed and used as an artwork.
– We will finally enhance the project with mirror work

Fee: Rs 1800 per participant (includes all materials)
