Silk painting – A Beginner workshop in Bangalore (Weekday workshop)
This workshop is for those who want to start learning this beautiful textile craft. By the end of the workshop, participants will learn to paint on silk. One can use the same technique on satin and polyester fabric as well. We will be doing silk in the class.
The Gutta / Water-based resist is a silk painting technique where the designs are outlined with a resist which is applied to white or light color fabric that is pre-washed, dried and stretched. Once gutta dries the fabric is painted. After the painting dries the gutta is washed and removed. The Silk colors are transparent and may be used only on light colored fabric.
All materials required for the workshop will be provided.
