Dont Chuck It. Repair It!

The mantra for 2017 for a low e-waste Bengaluru is how we’d like to begin the New Year,

In collaboration with Repair Cafe, the repair experts who’d be doing a training program for adults on how to fix your gadget. A basic electronics program on fixing gadgets for mainly adults.

Date – Jan 8th, 2016 – Sunday
Time – 10.30am to 1.30pm
Fee – Rs 1,000/- per person

Background –
Our City Bengaluru is generating 92,000 Metric tonnes/year of ewaste and household is accounting for 3%. Only 2.5% of total is recycled rest goes for illegal dismantling.
We often break things. Accidents are normal in our lives, but what is not normal is to throw away the things with practically nothing wrong in it just because it is not working for the time being . Have you ever tried to fix things yourself. Believe me every time you fix something, you help the planet by keeping hardware out of landfills.

Here is a workshop which will provide you practical tool and guidance about repairing common household items – Iron Box,Toaster,Electric Kettle & electric Lamp .

Tools will be there in the workshop. However you are welcome to carry your own tool box.Few basic spares may be available at the workshop but for specific requirements participant have to organize.

Bring household gadget whch requires repairing like- Iron Box, Toaster, Electric Kettle, & electric Lamp preferably – and mend it yourself.
