Let’s create
Dreamcatchers
-with Urban Ladder-
Walk into the brand new Urban Ladder store in J.P Nagar on the 11th of March for a workshop on making dreamcatchers. Dreamcatchers have spiraled into popularity in the past few years, and you’ve probably seen your fair share of them at souvenir shops and flea markets. Kitschy DIY craft it may be now…but it has its origins in Native American history. Dreamcatchers are believed to have sprung up in the Ojibwa Chippewa tribe, as a talisman to protect infants. These nets in these dainty charms were believed to ‘catch’ the bad dreams, and allow the good ones to pass through to the children.
At this workshop, you will be given a kit that will have all the supplies you need to make your own dreamcatcher – hoop, wool, beads, threads, feathers etc. Facilitators from Bloom & Grow will guide you through the process, with meditative music playing in the background to aid the creative process. At the end of two absorbing hours, you’ll have on your hands a gorgeous dreamcatcher, to keep the bad dreams away…and hopefully, to keep the good ones going strong!
