Block Printing Workshop for Kids – Summer Activities for kids
Block printing is an interesting craft for children where they experience the ‘joy of creating’ with wooden blocks. The 2-hour workshop will cover the following though not in order!
1. Teaching the technique of block printing
2. Making kids practice on paper till they are confident
3. Use of lead-free acrylic colors and getting the children acquainted with the colors
4. Process involved in making the colour ready
Take away product:
Kids will get to take away either a pencil pouch or a lunch bag. Designed and block printed by the young artists!
Kids also get to make some greeting cards using the beautiful art of block printing
We would be using exclusive kid-friendly blocks which have been designed keeping the young mind interests – Dinosaur den, insect insight, Jungle world, Christmas, whroom vehicles, sea scenery, farm fun etc)
Once they know the basic technique they can use it for any kind of artwork in future.

Learn an amazing skill of weaving your own toys from coconut leaves. You would be able to make watch, spectacles, whistle, snake, fish, bird, and other things from coconut leaves. The versatility of the material will amaze you.
The South Indian tradition has been alien to kids in the city. The workshop will take us to the times when we did amazing crafts with things around us, before consumerism engulfed us.
The workshop gives partcipants the joy of making own toys besides connecting with tradition and nature. The workshop would also help in improving hand eye co-ordination
This is a small step towards self-reliance, sustainability in a world of use & throw.
Bloom & Grow reintroduces a rich tradition of creating ones’s own toys in asociation with the artist, Nowshid. Nowshid hails from Kerala and is a graphic designer by profession. He has been exploring traditional arts and crafts.
This is a beginner workshop, an expert can weave hats, basket, even build a house.

LEGO WeDo Construction Kit is a simple robotics tool allows children to design their own interactive machines and then program them using drag-and-drop software. These projects help children to lay the foundation for lifelong learning.

Features of Workshop: Design and build a Miniature Solar Yacht Model, powered by solar cells. This literally runs on water and powered by sunlight. Learn about the benefits of solar power, and how architectural and building engineers integrate solar cells.
Main aim of the workshop is to introduces students to alternative energy concepts while incorporating problem solving, design and modeling. In addition, students will experience using hand tools as they construct their miniature solar yacht.
All Material will be provided; Nano Solar Panel, Micro DC motor, plastic gears, Acrylic sheet, foam sheet and propeller for DC motor.
About the artist:
Bishojeet Paul started making miniature models out of paper during his school days. He was featured on various TV shows like, BBC Wheels India 1999. Star News, Ndtv, etc, currently holding “LIMCA BOOK OF RECORDS” for making miniature cars bike and aero models out of stiff paper.
