Resin Art on Tray – Beginner Weekday Workshop

Making a painting with clear resin is a great learning experience.

Resin is a two-part compound that hardens to give a clear and glossy finish. You can either add paints to the resin and then create a painting. Alternatively, you can paint first and then pour the resin over the painting to create the finish.

In this two day workshop, you will learn how to work with the epoxy resin and how to mix colours and techniques for applying and creating designs. All the material will be provided in the workshop.

Takeaway – An 8 inches by 10 inches resin tray (Since resin takes 24 hours to settle, you need to pick up the next day or anytime later when convenient)

Distressed wood photo frame – Beginner workshop in Bangalore

There are times when you want to make something look like it has a little more history than its recent trip from a home store. But who can wait for wood furniture to age naturally and get that distinguished texture and rustic appeal of antique wood. Here is where distressing techniques come into play!

The workshop will cover various techniques to make a wooden frame look like a treasured heirloom.workshop

Participants will begin from scratch and use primer on the wood. One will use candles and layers of colors to create the distressed look on the wood frame in the guided three-hour session.
Chalk paints will come handy to add shades to the frame and get it the look of being weathered and old.

The artist will then steer the participants to the sealing process with an introduction to different types of wax; Antique, clear and white wax would be used in the sealing process of the wood that has been distressed.

We will provide different tips and techniques to use for getting this look with different mediums.
One can use this technique to give a different look to the existing furniture or perhaps to any leftover wood.

Kasuti Embroidery- Beginners workshop in Bangalore

Kasuti is a traditional form of folk embroidery practiced in the state of Karnataka, India. Kasuti work which is very intricate sometimes involves putting up to 5,000 stitches by hand and is traditionally made on dress-wear like Ilkal sarees, Ravike and Angi or Kurta.

The pattern to be embroidered is first marked with charcoal or pencil and then proper needles and thread are selected. The work is laborious and involves counting of each thread on the cloth. The patterns are stitched without using knots to ensure that both sides of the cloth look alike.

In this workshop, you will learn to stitch Kasuti embroidery on a place mat using 2 types of patterns of stitching.
