Alcohol ink is an impressionistic medium. This medium is a current rage amongst artist due to its highly pigmented colors that are transparent and extremely vibrant that on drying give a wispy effect. Alcohol inks are widely used to create flowing abstract art, mixed media projects, landscapes, resin projects etc. They can be used on multiple surfaces mostly which includes non porous surfaces like glossy paper, glass, ceramic etc.

In this workshop, we shall run through the various techniques of painting with alcohol inks and create our own abstract art on yupo paper and ceramics.

Materials Required:

  1. Isopropyl 99% alcohol
  2. Yupo Alcohol Ink Paper
  3. Alcohol inks, blending solution
  4. synthetic paper of any good brand – Beyond Inks/ Naara  
  5. Tile and ceramic (in any tile or ceramic store)
  6. To doodle Faber castell multimark 1513 fine waterproof pen/Posca Pens/Pen touch pens (All are optional)
  7. Straws, tissues & Gloves

Take your handmade projects to the next level in this unique workshop which combines paints and stenciling along with wood burning to create a vintage aged wood platter. In this class you will learn 2 unique techniques to finish and transform the burnt wood by applying wood stains & chalk paints.

This class is loaded with techniques and a perfect session for novice & experienced people alike. You will receive start-to-finish instructions & technique tips to –

  • Use a blow torch
  • Prepare the base (a wood plaque) by roasting the surface
  • Brush & sand the roasted surface to make the wood grains prominent
  • Stencil the selected pattern
  • Multi color dry brushing
  • Use wood stains
  • Add texture with splatters
  • Varnish to seal and protect the project

This class loaded with techniques is a perfect session for novice & experienced crafters alike. You will receive start-to-finish instructions & technique tips to:

  • Tear the selected decoupage pattern
  • Glue the tissue with minimal wrinkles & creases
  • Blend the tissue into the wood pattern with multi color dry brushing

Two-day Craft retreat – Learn eight fundamental crafting techniques

Here is the perfect chance for beginners to tap on different craft forms. A workshop which gives you a hands-on experience on various aspects of crafts.
This is the ideal workshop for craft teachers who wish to conduct summer camps for kids. And certainly a must do for beginners who have just entered the craft world. Also can be done by hobby enthusiasts.

So lets understand what you gain from this workshop:-

Day 1 (Saturday, 25th May)

1.Soap Making-Melt & Pour technique will be covered. Learn about different soap bases, essential oils, moulds and colours. Participants carry back two soaps made by them.

2.Image transfer – The art of transferring paper print on any surface. Here you learn to transfer using normal print outs. Once you undergo this training , you can use the same technique on any other surface like metal, mdf, glass, leather, fabric, plastic, etc. You carry back two image transferred pebbles.

3.Mixed Media Abstract Art- Enter the world of ink sprays, gesso & texture paste. Learn to do stenciling and stamping. Carry back a colourful fabric pouch with your newly learnt techniques.

4.Distress inks & oxides- A whole lot of new Supplies to gather some information about. Distress inks, distress oxides, archivals, clear stamps, etc. Learn the art of distressing on Iris paper using inks n oxides. Carry back your practice tags and a gorgeously colourful bookmark.

Day 2 (Sunday, 26th May)

5. Decoupage using laser prints- Who says Decoupage is done only using tissues!! You can use your basic printouts too… Learn how to Decoupage a penstand using laser prints.Also, learn to seal it.Carry back this beautiful art work to adorn your desk.

6. Decoupage on leather-Travelling is fun right!! What better to travel with something that’s purely done by you.Learn to Decoupage on leather using tissues. Carry back a passport sleeve & Luggage tag. Next time travel in style.

7. Foamiran flower Making -Why buy when u can make one. Learn to make foam flowers using the original foamiran sheets. Learn the basic technique of twisting n turning these sheets into pretty flowers. Carry back an mdf tag embellished with a foamiran flower created by you.

8.Distressing on wood – Learn distressing and add distinguished texture and rustic appeal to a plain tray. One can use this technique to give a different look to the existing furniture or perhaps to any leftover wood.Carry back a distressed wood tray 8 by 8″ to adorn your dining table.

Join this workshop and learn all eight different fundamental techniques of crafts in only one workshop and make this summer more creative and interesting.

Summer Camp – Online Art and Craft Classes

The Summer camp is all about inspiring creativity in kids and adults of different ages. Arth by Kshama brings to you activities that will not only keep you entertained and engaged but also instill a zeal to DIY and upcycle things that are around them.

Day 1: Monday, 12th June

Coffee Painting : Learn the nuances of the monochromatic art as you create your color palette with coffee. Coffee paintings involve working with only one color, but its potential for art is limitless. Participants will be able to use coffee as a resourceful medium to be able to create texture, shadows, gradients and depth.

Materials required – Thick Paper 150 GSM or more, Brushes (One flat, one round 5/6 number), instant coffee, palette/plate, water, etc

Day 2: Tuesday, 13th June

Acrylic Painting : Harry Potter-themed – “Welcome to Hogwarts” Harry Potter Paint Party. So Potterheads, time to board the Hogwarts Express and travel to the world of magic. We shall swish and flick our brushes as we paint the stunning Hogwarts.

Materials required – Thick Paper 300 GSM or more/ Canvas Board (Approx 8 by 10 inches)/ Canvas Pad, Acrylic Paints, Brushes (One flat, one round 5/6 number), palette/plate, water, etc

Day 3: Wednesday, 14th June

Lippan Art : Mud & Mirror work (also known as Lippan Kaam) is a traditional Mural Craft of Kutch, Gujarat India.  Participants will learn to use Shilpkaar clay, glass, and mirror to make their Lippan work with a contemporary twist.

Materials required – Canvas (Approx 8 by 6 inches)/ costers/ MDF boards, Mould it (Shilpkaar clay), talcum powder (optional), Fevicol, Acrylic paint, brushes, water etc

Day 4: Thursday, 15th June

T-shirt painting : Wear your creativity on your sleeve with your own personalized t-shirt. Using masking tape techniques and brush painting, participants will paint some cool T-shirts in this session.

Materials required – Any cotton T-shirt (preferably white or light color), Acrylic Paints, Masking tape, Brushes (One flat, one round 5/6 number), permanent marker, a pair of scissors, chart paper (optional), palette/plate

Day 5: Friday, 16th June

Mixed Media Photo frames : Mixed media is a term used to describe artworks composed of a combination of different media or materials. In this session, participants will learn to use to create a photo frame with a combination of materials they have.

Materials required – Mdf board or canvas or thick paper, Fevicol, acrylic paints brushes etc, sponge, tooth brush
Other materials like Lace, buttons, artificial flowers, old puzzle pieces, glitter, colorful thick threads, newspaper/ magazines, Small mirror pieces, and design stencils are optional. Participants may use any such material they have at home.

Week II:

Day 1: Monday, 19th June

Doodle Art : Doodling is a popular art form for children these days. Doodling is limitless and has tons of options. Lines, shapes, cartoons, natural elements, letters, and much more that help in visual expression.

Materials required – Any drawing paper/ sheet or a surface that you would like to doodle on, pen/pencil/fine marker/ colors

Day 2: Tuesday, 20th June

Dot Art : This session introduces participants to Dottilism. Dottilism helps to focus apart from being an art form used it to decorate stones, canvases, or other materials. Let’s create a beautiful dot painting with colorful 3D dots of Acrylics and get introduced to Dot Art. We will make an art piece using only dots.

Materials required – Any drawing paper/ sheet/canvas or a surface that you would like to dot paint on, acrylic paints, brushes

Day 3: Wednesday, 21st June

Bottle Painting/ Pot painting : Upcycle your glass bottles/ plastic containers into a beautiful piece of art using some fun and endearing art techniques making most of the materials available to you.  Participants will be guided to use multiple techniques to make beautiful bottle art.

Materials required – Empty glass/ plastic/ metal bottle or jar, acrylic paints, brushes, sponge(optional), earbuds/ Q tips/masking tape, any marker or sketch pen.

Day 4: Thursday, 22nd June

Fluid Art : Fluid painting is a fun art technique that uses thin paints to create one-of-a-kind pieces without traditional brushwork. Paint is applied to a canvas by pouring, sprinkling, or other dynamic methods. In this session, you will learn different techniques of acrylic pouring using a pouring medium. The end result is beautiful and sometimes unexpected designs in front of you.

Materials required – Canvas (8 by 10inches/ 10 by 10inches/ 4 coasters), 3-4 shades of acrylic paints (fevicryl brand only), paper cups (10), 1 ballon (optional), gloves (optional), paintbrush, thick and thin

Day 5: Friday, 23rd June

Tie and Dye : Participants will be introduced to tie and dye fabric art in various cultures. You’ll be playing with colors and water – splashing, dipping, twisting, folding, tying, and dyeing to create a lovely piece of textile art.

Materials required – Fabric or piece of cloth/ t-shirt, a container for dyeing, rubber bands, threads, spray bottles/ paper cups, salt, acrylic paints, a bowl of water, and small glasses or bowls for mixing the dye (colors)

Age: 7+ years, Adults can join in for some fun too

1st Week: Mon to Fri, 12th June to 16th June
