Silk Painting on Fabric -Beginner workshop in Bangalore
Learn to paint on silk this summer. This workshop introduces you to the beautiful and elegant form of textile art using watercolor technique. Gutta in different colors will be used for the workshop and you will learn the water-resist technique to apply it on the silk, forming beautiful designs.
These beautiful silk paintings can be framed to adorn your walls or can be made into cushion covers, sarees and stoles.
Your facilitator for this workshop, Kalpana Venson of KreativeMinds, has found her niche in the field of arts for over 10 years now and has been training students of all ages in silk painting, sketching, water colors, acrylic, soft pastels also in crafts of paper, pottery and quilling. She has been conducting in-depth silk painting classes since 3+ years and loves to help her students create magic on silk. Kalpana will explain the silk painting technique with a demonstration and will be followed by participants practicing on small silk cloth. They will then proceed to make the final painting on bigger silk cloth with Kalpana’s guidance.

Kasuti Embroidery- Beginners workshop in Bangalore
Kasuti is a traditional form of folk embroidery practiced in the state of Karnataka, India. Kasuti work which is very intricate sometimes involves putting up to 5,000 stitches by hand and is traditionally made on dress-wear like Ilkal sarees, Ravike and Angi or Kurta.
The pattern to be embroidered is first marked with charcoal or pencil and then proper needles and thread are selected. The work is laborious and involves counting of each thread on the cloth. The patterns are stitched without using knots to ensure that both sides of the cloth look alike.
In this workshop, you will learn to stitch Kasuti embroidery on a place mat using 2 types of patterns of stitching.

Woodcut Printmaking Workshop in Bangalore
Woodcut is among the oldest printmaking techniques, and continues to be a strong graphic tradition today. This workshop will introduce you to the tools and methods needed to allow you to carve your own block and print from your own relief woodblocks. You will explore carving techniques to obtain a range of texture, depth, and dramatic contrast to create strong visual statements in your artwork. We will also study examples from history expression

Artist – Anjali Goel
A Delhi based artist. Her artistic practice involves painting printmaking, installations and artists books. She completed her Master’s program in Print Making from Faculty of Fine Arts, Baroda in 2010 and Bachelor’s program in painting from Kurukshetra University, 2008. She is a recipient of Government of India (HRD) Scholarship in 2011. She has participated in All India Women artist camp at IGNCA New Delhi in 2013, VadFest 2015, VAMA at IGNCA Delhi, 4th All India Digital Art exhibition 2014 and 10th Premio Acqui International Biennial, Italy.

Original Stained Glass – Beginners workshop in Bangalore
Just a note at the beginning, this is NOT a workshop on glass painting. This is the original stained glass art where glass sheets are hand cut and soldered with lead and tin to make a piece of art. Tiffany styled lampshades and door and window panels are the best examples of this art form.
In the beginners workshop of stained glass you will learn basic and advanced (basically all forms) of scoring and cutting glass sheets. For eg. straight line, curves, triangles, circles and deeper circular cuts etc. The next step would be grinding of the glass, then Foiling it and finally soldering it to make a two sun-catchers for your balcony/garden.
Beaded wires and hooks will be provided along with your finished pieces. Although the practice cuts will be done on clear glass, we shall be using ONLY original coloured imported glass for your finished piece.
