1)Two old books approximately 75 pages (minimum) : size: 5.5 inches by 7 inches ( approximate) preferably with a hard cover
(These books can be old used notebooks, novels etc with good quality pages)
2) scissors
3) cellotape / glue / fevicol
4) old newspaper and/or coloured paper (red, black, brown, any other color of your choice ) – you can use coloured paper from magazines/ newspaper also where there is text written on the paper
5) small ball with the size of a table tennis ball OR round bottle cork OR clay to make the ball
6) pencil / sketchpen
7) old bottle cap (soft drink bottle or bislery bottle cap – colour it red and keep ready )

Madhubani Art – Beginner weekend workshop in Bangalore
Madhubani, a form of Indian folk art, originated from the Madhubani district in the Mithila region of Bihar. For centuries, the women of Mithila have practiced this art by decorating the walls of their houses with linear and vibrant designs depicting mythological deities and nature. These days Madhubani designs are seen on handmade paper, canvas, and fabric.
In this workshop, the participants will learn about the different styles of Madhubani paintings and create one of their own.
It will be a guided session, so you need not have any prior experience in painting.

What: We will cover the above questions and more. We will start with the basic logic of the raga system, and go on to the various technicalities of Hindustani classical vocal performances. By Whom: Ranitendranath Tagore, aka Ranit, is a vocal artist proficient in various genres ranging from Hindustani Classical to popular cinematic music. His interest goes beyond the boundaries of language – he has performed in Bengali, Hindi, English, Marathi, and Tamil. In his earlier years, he has trained intensively under the tutelage of Sri Rama pada Nandi who was a disciple of many illustrious teachers including Sri Krishna Chandra Dey, who was himself mentor to artists like S D Burman and Manna Dey.
Ranit has performed solo on television and continues to perform formally and informally at invited events. He conducts music classes and workshops for singing enthusiasts looking to improve, explore different genres or just have a good time singing.

What is Decoupage?
Decoupage is an art form that uses specially printed decoupage tissue napkins or decoupage paper to decorate various surfaces, using special techniques and painting effects, which will be taught to you, which make the finished product appear as if it has been hand-painted.
What is Pichwai art?
Pichwai also known as “Pichwai” is a traditional Indian art having its origins hundreds of years ago in Rajasthan. Pichwai art features intricate paintings portraying the baby Lord Krishna (Sreenath ji) which is usually done on fabric using dark rich hues.
Have fun creating a unique work of a combination of hand-painted lotuses and leaves, and decoupage Pichwai Sreenathji and Pichwai cows art.
Create a gorgeous decoupaged and hand-painted Pichwai art kettle ( for your home to use as a planter or for fresh/artificial flowers or just as a home decor accent). You can also gift this beautiful kettle to someone special, with this workshop that will teach you how to Decoupage on Metal.
