Acrylic paints are one of the most versatile and exciting art mediums for beginner painters. The Acrylic Painting workshop is designed for absolute beginners and will cement a strong foundation in understanding the medium and its working with various tools.
Participants will be guided through the course to understand LIGHT and FORM, MIXING of colors, applying LAYERS of colors to get the exact subject, COMPOSITIONS, and much more.
You will learn to achieve a wide range of painting techniques using BRUSHES, TEXTURES, PALETTE KNIVES.

Day 1: Monday, 18th Oct Zentangle Still Life – The Zentangle Method is an easy-to-learn, relaxing, and fun way to create beautiful images by drawing structured patterns. We call these patterns, tangles. You create tangles with combinations of dots, lines, simple curves, S-curves and orbs. These simple shapes are the “Elemental Strokes” in all Zentangle art. Materials required – Marker/Microtip pen and colors
Day 2 : Tuesday, 19th Oct Bottle Painting – Upcycle your glass bottles to a beautiful piece of art using some fun and endearing art techniques making most of the materials available with you. These bottles may be used as vases, lampshade holders, etc.
Materials required – Empty glass/ plastic/ metal bottle or jar, acrylic paints, brushes sponge (optional) earbuds/ Q tips, any marker or sketch pen.
Day 3: Wednesday, 20th Oct Harry Potter Painting – Little treat to all Potterheads, as Hedwig brings you your Letter from Hogwarts. After getting sorted into your Houses we shall swish and flick our brushes to paint the adorable Hedwig. All supplies will be brought straight from Diagon Alley to your desk. Do not hold back if you have never painted before, we have got it all sorted for you.
Materials required – Canvas/ Drawing sheet, brushes, acrylic paints
Day 4: Thursday, 21st Oct
Texture Painting: Acrylic painting of cupcake with textured background. Participants will learn how to create textures with various materials like bubble wraps/ newspapers, tooth brush, fingers etc
Materials require – Acrylic paints and available materials for texturing
Day 5: Friday, 22nd Oct Lippan Art – Lippan Kaam, also known as Mud and mirror work is a traditional Mural Craft of Kutch, Gujarat India. Learn Clay Modeling techniques and Mirror placing in this session.
Materials required – Mirrors, Shilpkaar clay, canvas/any MDF board

About the Trainer: Micky Sujan, a self taught artist has been practicing all mediums of art for over 2 decades. Micky has been taking art classes with Bloom and Grow for over 3 years. She has taught sketching and drawing to over 200 students. She loves pencil drawings and also dabbles with various other mediums like acrylic, oil pastels, coloured pencils and water colours.

Madhubani Painting Masterclass – Two day online workshop
Learn Madhubani paintings in the traditional authentic form with Master artist, Vidushini Prasad in a 2-day online class.
About Madhubani: Madhubani Painting originated from Madhubani district of Mithila region of Bihar. The paintings are drawn in accordance with a fixed theme and accordingly, symbols, lines, patterns are drawn. These paintings mostly depict nature and religious motifs and the themes generally depict deities, nature, fishes, peacock etc. Natural objects like the sun, the moon, and the religious plants like tulsi are also widely painted. The paintings can be done on handmade paper, canvas, dupattas, stoles etc.
About the workshop: Get introduced to the Madhubani art form and learn various styles of this folk art- Bharani and Kachani styles. Learn about its story, grammar, colors, motifs, and special characteristics. We will be learning Madhubani patterns and then make an art form in the workshop. Madhubani paintings are preferably made on handmade paper. However, you may use a thick drawing sheet for this workshop. Keep acrylic colors and brushes handy and you are good to start your journey with Madhubani. You will be given design options to choose from.

About the Trainer:
Vidushini Prasad is a Bengaluru-based Madhubani (Mithila) artist whose roots are in Bihar, the state where Madhubani paintings originated. She has been teaching the art for several years and is an empaneled artist of Ministry of Textile, Govt. of India.
Vidushini’s work has been exhibited at several Art Galleries including Renaissance Art Gallery (Bangalore), David Hall Art Gallery, Fort Kochi, Eka Lifestyle, Bangalore, Genesis Art Gallerie.
Some of Vidushini’s exclusive work are also available on Novica, a National Geographic partner site, which connects Artisans to a global marketplace of socially conscious customers. Print version of some of her work in form of various products are also available on FineArtAmerica, a platform that has revolutionized the way that artwork is bought and sold around the world.
Vidushini Prasad has authored a book on Madhubani Art which is a ready reference of art forms and how they are done, sold, exported and marketed abroad. Her painting ‘A Celebration of Life’ was chosen as the theme image for the Lok Sangeet Sammelan, organised by India Habitat Center in August 2015
